And some of them were persuaded, and consorted with Paul and Silas, and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love. having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have toward all the saints, because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, But when Timothy came even now unto us from you, and brought us glad tidings of your faith and love, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, longing to see us, even as we also (to see) you; We are bound to give thanks to God always to you, brethren, even as it is meet, for that your faith growth exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another aboundeth; To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and (every) work of faith, with power; And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ. for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister. Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself.
